ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY PRINTMAKING BOOKS
AUTUMN KIDD
Autumn Kidd is a photographer and printmaker capturing the fragmented reality of a young, queer womanhood. Hailing from the wastelands of Arizona and New Mexico where she discovered the necessity of creating pictorial memories to cope with the harsh landscapes that engulfed her. Kidd currently resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she has expanded her practice to include artist bookmaking where the use of sequencing and trial make up the very significance of her work as she explores the themes of sexuality, identity, and reconfiguring what it means to be feminine. Through the use of materiality Kidd weaves together alternative darkroom printing, photography, bookmaking, and sewing to bring this splintered feeling into a tangible reality.
Kidd’s film photography work has been featured in numerous publications and group gallery shows spanning several states.
